How-To: Sygic GPS Navigation Android - χάρτες στην εξωτερική κάρτα SD (Αγγλικά)

I managed to find a solution to put Sygic GPS Navigation v.11.0.1 and v.11.0.2 maps for Android on external sd card.

Here are the steps:

1. Install Sygic GPS Navigation on your Android phone.

2. Start the Sygic Download application and download your favorites maps.

3. After download is completed close the Sygic Download application and connect your phone in USB storage mode to a PC.

4. On the PC side, move all content except database.xml and base-is-ok.txt from Aura folder on the internal phone memory to a folder called Aura on the external_sd card.

So after this process on the internal phone memory should be a folder called Aura with 2 files in it: database.xml and base-is-ok.txt and on the external_sd card in the Aura folder should be all the files needed by Sygic.

5. Make a back-up copy of database.xml then open it with Notepad editor. You will see that the file is pretty consistent. While in Notepad press CRTL+H and the find and replace option appears.

In the Find what field write:Aura/

In the Replace with write:external_sd/Aura/

Now press Replace All then Save the file (CTRL+S).

6. Disconnect storage from PC and start Sygic GPS Navigation. The program should start with no problem.

Make sure to not start Sygic Download application after this process as it will erase everything from the external_sd and will re-download the maps to internal phone memory. If you want new maps you have to start the process all over again or move the maps to a temporary folder, start Sygic Download, download new maps, and repeat the whole process from step 3.

If something goes wrong and your Sygic GPS Navigation application is not working or you just want to go to default program folders you can always delete the Aura folder from internal phone memory and external sd card but be aware you’ll lose all the downloaded maps.

Or without loosing the downloaded maps, you can move the content of Aura folder from the external sd card back to Aura folder on the internal phone memory, delete database.xml file, restore the back-up file and everything should be fine.

This method tested by Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and Samsung Galaxy S 4 with Android 4.3

Πριν την εγκατάσταση
Θα παρεις bacup τον φακελο Sygic απο την διαδρομη \Phone\Android\data\com.sygic.aura αν το εχεις στην εσωτερικη μνημη.
Θα κανεις απεγκατάσταση του απκ μεσα απο την διαχείριση εφαρμογών...cashe, διαγραφη αρχειων, απεγκατάσταση και θα κανεις επανεκκίνηση του τηλεφωνου.
θα κανεις ενα ελεγχο στο \Phone\Android\data\ και στο Card\Android\data\ μηπως εχουν μείνει τιποτα καταλοιπα και τα διαγράφεις
Θα περασεις τον φακελο Sygic στην sd καρτα και θα κανεις εγκατάσταση της 14.6.1 τα υπόλοιπα θα στα πει το απκ απο μονο του κατα την πρωτο ξεκινημα.
Οταν τελιωσεις θα διαγραψεις το φακελο διοτι ολα πλεον βρισκονται στην διαδρομή Card\Android\data\com.sygic.aura\files\Sygic

ελπιζω να βοηθησα.

ΥΓ: Φυσικά και μπορεις να χρησιμοποίησης και τον φακελο Sygic της 14.6.1 που χωρις να παρεις bacup τον τον παλιο φακελο Sygic απο την πρωτη εγκατάσταση διαλεογοντας να κατεβασεις μια μονο χωρα στην αρχη. Κλεινεις την εφαρμογη ακομα και απο το παρασκήνιο. Μεταφέρεις τον φακελο απο την εσωτερικη στην εξωτερικη καρτα και κατεβασεις και τις υπόλοιπες χώρες που εχει πληρώσεις

How do I move Sygic to SD card? (Android) (KitKat)

Moving Sygic to an SD card is simple - all you need is a file manager on your phone.

For this example, we're using File Manager (Explorer).

Please note that different file managers look and can work differently.

For users with Android OS version 4.4 (KitKat) or higher

1. Please download the latest version of Sygic GPS navigation from the play store.
   
2. Cut and paste the existing Sygic folder from the internal memory onto the external SD card. Please make sure that no Sygic files or folders remain in the internal memory.
   
3. Launch sygic and you should see a message about the need to copy the files to a new folder. Tap ok and sygic will copy the necessary files into android/data/com.sygic.aura/files/ folder automatically. When its done, the app should start correctly.
   
4. Now you can delete the remaining Sygic folder from the main external SD card folder as it was already copied into android/data/com.sygic.aura/files/ on your SD card.

Please do NOT move the Sygic folder directly into Android/data/com.sygic.aura folder. Sygic needs to create this folder and recreate the Sygic files.

For users with Android OS version 4.3 or lower

1. Find the Sygic folder, tap & hold it and select Cut

2. Navigate to the SD card and select Paste

3. Sygic will now move to the SD card
