Η Nokia Networks ανακοίνωσε σήμερα ότι θα αναβαθμίσει το βασικό δίκτυο GSM-Railway (GSM-R) για τον ΟΣΕ, δημιουργώντας τα θεμέλια για μελλοντική επέκταση του δικτύου, όπως σημειώνεται σε σχετική ανακοίνωση της εταιρείας.
Ο εκσυγχρονισμός του δικτύου επικοινωνιών θα αυξήσει τη λειτουργική ικανότητα του ΟΣΕ, παρέχοντας πιο ασφαλείς και αξιόπιστες σιδηροδρομικές μετακινήσεις στη χώρα, αναφέρει η εταιρεία σε σχετική ανακοίνωση και προσθέτει: Η λύση GSM-R της Nokia Networks παρέχει πιο αξιόπιστες επικοινωνίες σε σύγκριση με τα παλαιότερα αναλογικά συστήματα σε εθνικά και διηπειρωτικά ταξίδια, ενώ παράλληλα δίνει τη δυνατότητα μετάδοσης δεδομένων συντήρησης σε πραγματικό χρόνο.
Με το προηγμένο δίκτυο, οι σιδηροδρομικοί φορείς μπορούν να μειώσουν τα λειτουργικά κόστη, να βελτιώσουν την ασφάλεια και τελικά να προσφέρουν πιο αξιόπιστες υπηρεσίες, σημειώνει η εταιρεία.

Nokia Networks will upgrade the GSM-Railway (GSM-R*) core network for Greece’s national railway operator, OSE, laying the foundation for future network expansion. The modernized communication system will increase the operational efficiency of the Greek national railway, which will provide safer, reliable train travel in the country.
The GSM-R solution from Nokia Networks provides more reliable communications than older analogue systems for railway operators and train drivers across national and transcontinental journeys while also enabling the transmission of rail maintenance data in real-time.
With the advanced communication network, railway operators can reduce operational costs, improve safety and ultimately offer more dependable travel services for passengers.
