Google Maps new update will let users select a multi-route journey while navigating on the app

Almost a month after it was launched for Android, Google (http://indianexpress.com/tag/google/) Maps’ has announced an update for iOS that will let users select a multi-route journey while navigating on the app. In a Google blog post Aditya Dhanrajani, Product Manager of Google Maps, shared a screenshot of an iOS device supporting the multi-route maps. The update however hasn’t reached the Apple app store yet.
The days of selecting point A to point B navigation – and then selecting a point B to point C are over. Google Maps now allows you to enter a destination and then add intermediate stops to your trip. This feature is extremely useful when taking a road trip. It will help the user to mark all the interval stops or tourist destination in one sitting. Multi-route stop feature was launched for Android users earlier this month.
To use the feature a user must open the app, enter a destination, tap the corner menu, and then tap on β€œAdd stop”. It is possible to rearrange the order of the stops by tapping and holding the stop that needs to be moved and then dragging it to the new order that is required. Once you’ve added all your stops, tap β€œDone” and your multi-stop route is complete.
Google Maps is the most use navigational app across all smartphone devices. Even though Apple Maps have come a long way from its buggy start, the number of users on it isn’t even close to what Google Maps has. Another popular navigation app on Apple devices is Here Maps, which was recently renamed as €œHere WeGo€.
